Why dont we cost just off size….

We sometimes get asked to provide a cost without actually seeing the area and it is not something that we feel comfortable doing as we can give in accurate costs and also sometimes peoples measurements out and we don’t like to adjust the cost, especially if it’s going to increase, so we like to get it right the first time. For us to cost effectively, we either need to visit, or we request pictures on the full address and postcode so we can look at the pictures and also look on Google Earth and take measurements of the areas which then we times by our cost per square inch based on the pictures, and that should give us a accurate figure, and also allows us to give a speedy turnaround for quotes and implementation.

We some time get asked to give a cost by inexperanced people trying to get i to the trade who do not have experience costing, as ask us to give them a cost based on the size so that they can then take that cost and give it to the customer or use it as a way of undercutting the competition. In these cases, they’re very reluctant to share, addresses and photographs. as a result we do not cost unless we see the areas and have the address or visit.

So….. the Cost of Pressure Washing:

The cost of pressure washing depends on several factors, such as the type and size of the area to be cleaned. Here’s an estimate of the pricing range:

like most companies we have a minimum charge,  for example 40sqm on average in London and the surrounding counties for a basic clean with no chemicals you would be looking at Between £150 and £170 (small are will include single pass chemicals* depending on the surface. Basements can cost more due to drainage and having to clean the walls windows and possible poor drainage. Other factors like parking charges in central London and the congestion charge can also effect the cost. lichen removal can be in the cost but this is for a single pass and if it need more chemicals for a second / third pass it could add a little more to the cost..

The cost of pressure washing can vary due to the following factors:

1. Material: Different materials require different approaches, and some may need extra care or additional treatments, affecting the overall cost.

2. Size of the Area: Larger areas typically require more time and effort, but due to the size it can actualy cost less per sqm which can influence the pricing.

3. Condition of the Material: The state of the surface being pressure washed may require more preparation work or time, impacting the cost.

4. Additional Treatments: If the area needs additional treatments, such as sealing, rust removal or bleaching it will add to the overall cost in most cases.

5. Ease of Access: The accessibility of the area can affect the time and equipment required, potentially affecting the price.

6. Location: can effect what service providers have to pay for parking such as central London and this will effect the overall cost along with the connection charge.

Choosing a Professional

To find the right professional for pressure washing company, consider these steps:

1. Seek Recommendations: Ask friends, family, and colleagues for recommendations, as their experiences can help you make an informed decision.

2. Verify Experience: Check the professional’s website, social media, and reviews from past customers to assess their expertise. (Take a look at our google reviews and also out TikTok and YouTube pages.)

3. Get Written Quotes: Always obtain written quotes to avoid misunderstandings and ascertain what services are included.

5. Check Insurance: Ensure the professional has insurance to protect against any potential damage or accidents. (At jet wash drives we have 10 million pounds of public liability insurance with Hiscox)

6 After all that make sure you feel comfortable with who you choose… We like to build relationships with our customers as driveway and patio cleaning is annual and we see a very large % of our customers by yearly, yearly or in some cases every 6 months.

Be aware of cold callers saying “we are cleaning drives in your area”…..etc
But do be aware of doorstep cold callers. We have heard some horror stories and in some cases had to support people who have been caught out but this rouge traders and exstotional charges working with traiding staders to help them get a resolution. Do not pay up front get the cost in writing and do not get pushed in to anything. Finally when in dought so no thank you.
