Drive cleaning needs to be a process. We don’t just ‘blast the hell’ out of your drive with a high pressure machine, spraying dirt up your house walls and over your delicate plants, our professional service is adapted from our internal hard surface cleaning method. We combine the use of chemicals and scrubbing as it is more gentle, We prefer an appropriate application of pressure washing so as not to cause damage. We only use the dual process for difficult areas so that we can give an amazing clean that cannot be matched by pressure washing alone.

not sure about chemicals…. if we do need to use we can use them near your plants or lawn as they are non-toxic and environmentally friendly* (they are even safe enough for your pets to be present while we clean) they help remove deeply ingrained dirt from pavers & driveway sets allowing us to give an amazing clean.

There is a huge variety of materials that can be used for driveway construction, from black asphalt to crushed seashells. The material you choose will probably depend on several factors such as cost, durability and appearance. these can have an impact on the process and pressure we can use. Asphalt may need more than just a wash to get the most impact 

Asphalt driveways can be cheaper than concrete although they may require more money for future maintenance – an asphalt driveway is likely to need resealing every 2-5 years. An asphalt driveway can last around 15-30 years compared to 40 years for one made of concrete. However, concrete is less flexible than asphalt and may crack in very cold conditions, while asphalt is vulnerable to extreme heat.

In the case of tarmac surfaces, it is possible to not only just pressure wash these surfaces to clean them, but also to treat them with a restoring agent. In the photograph sequence shown below, it is seen how a cleaned tarmac driveway can be brought back to nearly new condition, without the expense of relaying it with fresh tarmac. jet wash drives can do more than just as we can apply an asphalt emulsion (water based) environmentally friendly sealer designed to make tarmac driveways and surfaces look as good as new by restoring their color at a fraction of the cost of replacement. The examples shown above are of the black most frequently used form of tarmac. To achieve an excellent result we carry out minor repairs before applying the renovator Over time through wear and tear the tarmac surfaces can tend to break up a little. With our winter climate in the UK the freeze-thaw cycle damages the binding agent, allowing the aggregate to break away and create small holes and craters. Block paving

Using blocks gives you the option of creating an attractively patterned driveway. Many people prefer the appearance of block paving over plain concrete or asphalt, and so although it can be more expensive this might be worth considering if you are interested in increasing the value of your home.

The structure of a block paving driveway gives it flexibility. This allows the driveway to move with the ground, reducing cracking. And any blocks that get damaged or stained can be lifted out and replaced, making maintenance easier.

Cleaning block, brick, or masonry driveways is often a two-step process. If there are weeds on or between the paving blocks, they should be removed prior to applying weed killer. This is best accomplished on a dry day when no rain is forecast. It is important to take note of the runoff location to prevent poisoning your lawn or garden. Ridding the area of weeds will also help prevent the growth of algae and moss on the pavers. Frequent pressure washing isn’t advised since the pressure can dislodge the joints. If a pressure washer is used, the angle should be maintained at 45 degrees. Acidic cleaners should be avoided to prevent damaging the surface of the pavers. Scrubbing with a mild detergent is recommended.

Sealing*: We only offer a drive sealing service during summer months to the need for dry conditions, this is order to avoid disappointment.

When cleaning brick/block driveways if we slightly remove the joint sand* we are happy to re-sand once we finish although this may have to be on a separate day as it needs to be completely dry.

Remove of joint sand*: This is somewhat unavoidable and is very much dependent on how well the drive was laid to begin with. it is also dependent on how well it has been maintained over the years. We are happy to re-sand your drive intact we recommend it in conjunction with spraying the drive with a weed killer on completion. but some customers who are selling go for the cheaper quick fix option of just a wash.

We are happy to give you a free quote on your cleaning and do not always need to physically inspect the drive to assess how long the job will take, you can send us an image of the areas that you want to clean and we can make a suggestion on what equipment and process are required.  Because of this quotes are not set in stone as a picture can’t show issues that the dirt may be hiding so on arrival we will conduct an inspection and confirm any additional cost as options you may wish to take or leave.
